Why does everyone want a SAP job?
In the 1st edition I mentioned that SAP jobs pay very well as per Glassdoor. Being SAP consultant has other advantages like:
Being able to travel. A Moroccan SAP expert can be hired for a project in Australia. Business trip costs can be fully paid by the client. And you can spend some time in a country you would never have been able to visit in normal times.
The same person might work for a similar project remotely, so no need to travel, just work from home and deliver the project!
You can learn many and industries processes without having business background. For example doing projects for automotive will make you familiar with automotive KPIs, business processes, pain points etc. Afterwards you might have a job opportunity in the automotive industry thanks to that project. Same for business processes: I am an IT guy with no business background but I learnt accounting thanks to the SAP projects I did.
Last but not least, SAP related CVs are very demanded because SAP projects are everywhere and the SAP market is lacking SAP resources.
Can I really learn SAP for free??
You gonna tell me “if I learn SAP on the internet it's not enough, I won't become an expert?” Yes and no cause nothing can replace professional experience and projects. However in the content I will show you, you will see experts explaining real life problems, providing solutions, you will have the opportunity to practice in real SAP systems, try, fail and learn FOR FREE 🤑
So here is the moment you were waiting for since you subscribed to my newsletter: Let me reveal the learning tips to you. However it’s just an intro to set the stage, I won't deep dive into each platform. The details of each will be provided in the next editions so ensure to stay subscribed and read all of them.
1️⃣ Open SAP: free platform owned by SAP
Courses are free, you can get your certificates for free if you take the exam before the deadline announced for each course.
Most of the courses are subtitled videos and offer exercises, case studies, testing systems and a forum to exchange between learners and experts.
2️⃣ SAP Learning Hub: official learning platform
It has paid content but it also offers free simplified learning journeys to help you upskill and get prepared for official certifying SAP exams.
3️⃣ Open HPI: created by SAP’s founder H.Plattner
A platform offering certifying courses for free around IT topics at the cutting edge of technology. There are no SAP topics but most of the them can help you in your SAP experience, especially if you target technical content.
4️⃣ SAP Community Network (SCN)
It’s the official user community of SAP. SAP users, developers, consultants, mentors and students use it to get help, share ideas, learn, innovate and connect with others.
SCN has over 430 spaces (sub-groups) dedicated to SAP products, topics, technologies, industries, programming languages (such as ABAP) and more.
Spaces contain forums, blogs, documents, e-learning and polls.
Access SAP Community Network here.
5️⃣ Youtube Channels
Just type “SAP” on YouTube search bar and you’ll get plenty of SAP official product related channels. The good with videos is they get you motivated to keep the momentum.
For example you have the SAP Analytics channel or the SAP Build and workzone portals etc.
6⃣ Udemy free content
If you go to Udemy, type “SAP” in the search bar then apply the free of charge filter, you’ll find 227 results! Not so bad especially that you can filter by language, duration, theme etc.
What’s next?
Some of the next editions will be dedicated to each of the platforms mentioned above in order to explain how it works, how to get certified for free through them etc. However if you are in a hurry, leave a comment below so I can send you the link to the platform you are interested into and respond to your concerns.

@Walid
This is really useful.
I have taken a number of courses like SAP ByD on openSAP and found them really helpful.
Can you advise where to find similar training/ courses for SAP B1?
Thanks in advance.
